"RHYTHM AND BAMBOO" FEATURE DOCUMENTARY SHOOT IN PRAGUE

Over the course of the first week in June I have joined the L.A. based documentary director/producer David Neptune on his epic quest - filming a feature documentary about his father John Kaizan Neptune - one of the world's top shakuhachi players. Over the last two years David, co-producer Chiaki, and several other crew members already filmed in Japan where John lives. This June David followed his father to Prague where he took part in the International Shakuhachi Festival. I was lucky to participate as a camerawoman and film John perform in different types of venues, lead masterclasses and interact with other shakuhachi players attending the festival. It was a rewarding week of filming, physically exhausting and mentally inspiring. I take away important collaborative experiences, memories of incredible performances, lots of laughs and a few new friendships. Watch the trailer here:
