Two years ago, myself and director Beta Bajgart flew to Leeds, UK for a weekend, to film a documentary about a Unitarian Church Minister and astrologer Bill Darlison. His deep understanding of the Bible and the stars helps us understand that both are inextricably linked with the events we experience here on Earth. We filmed in his home and hometown of Pontefract, and the result is a charming short documentary that makes an obscu...

On Thursday, June 18th, the cast and crew will have an online screening of our new film "Cost You Nothing." This is my second collaboration with writer/director Patricia Kelly, who co-produced this short film with Anna Czarska of Sticky Tape Productions. After that the film will be submitted to festivals domestically and abroad and we hope to announce further screenings soon. Meanwhile, you can check out the trailer.

On the last day of lockdown, I got together with the members of Crow Airport, an emerging Dublin based band, and shot a video for their first single "St. Denis." We had the streets of city centre almost entirely to ourselves. Some of the shots we knew we wanted to get but about a half of them was improvised and shot on the spot. It was an interesting experience directing and filming a band on my own, though my husband did come w...

I was recently pleasantly surprised by receiving two nominations for Best Cinematography in a Short Film for my work on In Orbit. The film has done well on the festival circuit and earned the director, composer and several cast and crew members some wins and nominations. I was recognised by the North Europe International Film Festival in London and South Europe International Film Festival in Valencia. The first took place pre-pa...

The global pandemic and subsequent lockdown hit me hard. All of the film productions I was scheduled to shoot were put on hold, and feel a sense of deep sadness and uncertainty. Needless to say we all likely feel this way. The city centre is deserted when I venture out every once in a while just to shake off the staleness of our flat. It occurred to me that I had to create something to stay sane and motivated for the future. And...

Making Films Dublin is a special event for anyone seriously interested in filmmaking, current film students and independent filmmakers. I was invited to speak during this event about my work as a cinematographer and my career path. During the course of one afternoon, attendees will hear from a panel of experts about their own filmmaking journey, such as Liam McGrath of Scratch Films, Robert Fitzhugh of Dublin Smartphone Film Fes...

The inaugural Catalyst Film Festival, taking place in Limerick, Ireland next month, has selected three short film where I was the cinematographer for their program. "When Possible, Take a U-Turn", "In Orbit" and "Fast and Faster" were picked to compete in this new festival that prioritizes stories and storytellers currently underrepresented on screen and behind the camera. It aims to create a more inclusive industry and films sc...

I just wrapped on my latest short film "Cost You Nothing." My second collaboration with Patricia Kelly of MnáMná Films on a short drama about a fractions relationship between a mother and her son. Patricia wrote, directed and produced the short and also starred in one of the roles. Anna Czarska of Sticky Tape Productions co-produced. The shoot took only two days in Patricia's mother's house, and we had several outdoor locations...

I have spent a weekend in November and a weekend in December in an auditorium full of creative female talent based and working in Ireland.

"This new initiative seeks to be a rapid intervention to address the gender imbalance in the audio-visual industry while encouraging the cross-pollination of ideas and collaborative practices between art forms and creative disciplines outside of the audio-visual sector."

Around a 150 participa...

My short film collaboration with writer/director Patricia Kelly WHEN POSSIBLE, TAKE A U-TURN, won Best LGBT at the Linear International Film Festival in Todmorden, UK. Patricia and I attended the festival and were amazed at the organizators' hospitality, the friendly atmosphere and the effort that was put into the production of the festival. It took place in a beautiful Unitarian Church, perched up over the bustling town of Todm...

I have just completed my new showreel with footage from short films I shot in the last year (including two favourites from two years ago). Very thankful for all the collaborations.

Brand new short film which I DOPd is now heading to the IndieCork Film Festival for it's Irish premiere. The film was shot on location in Co. Wicklow, in the Wicklow Mountains National Park. Emma Foley and Tamryn Robyn Reinecke who wrote, directed and produced this film, also cast themselves as the leads of this funny sisters-in-law dark comedy. A distinct visual style was chosen to tell this story, which was almost entirely sho...

Introducing new work - WHEN POSSIBLE, TAKE A U-TURN. A chic modern drama set in the northern suburbs of Dublin. What does one do to mend a broken heart? Dive deep into other people's lives.

Patricia Kelly, the brains behind this short film (writer, director, producer), and I scouted locations around Rush, Co. Dublin and filmed it for three days (including night exteriors). The weather didn't play ball with us the first night, so...

Today is the world premiere of a new short film IN ORBIT where I served as the Director of Photography. It's an LGBT sci-fi drama set in the future Dublin, and tells a story of a lonely optician whose life changes when she meets the woman of her life.

Directed by Katie McNeice as her short film debut, with a haunting music score from Emer Kinsella, the story of this film coincides with the marriage referendum of 2015 that changed...

A great way to start off the new year - I have the finished "Schooling" teaser for you. It took 3 days to shoot it and a good part of 2018 to finish it in post production.

"Schooling" is a short teaser for a feature film in development - made under the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland's ARRI Alexa Take. It was the first project I shot on anamorphic, hopefully one of many to come. Thanks to director Leticia Agudo, co-writer and...
